One of the best things to come from Asian stationery are washi tapes. These can be used like traditional tapes, but there's so much more fun to these essential stationery items! This week, we’ll introduce you to our favourite washi tape from Iconic, and some fun ways to use them.
What is washi tape? How can I use it?
Simply put, washi tape is a low-tack, often beautifully designed tape. It's easy to rip, easy to apply, and easy to remove. These qualities make washi tape an incredibly versatile product that encourages a wealth of creativity.
Because they come in unique styles, washi tapes can also used like stickers by cutting out the shapes you want. Or, you can use them the opposite way round, by creating freehand stencils.
Lots of people use washi tapes as borderlines for their journals. Others use them as accents to highlight important quotes or words, and some even stick them on the ends of pages to use as portable tabs! This is just the tip of the iceberg; washi tapes are super fun to play with, so feel free to come up with your own ideas.
What washi tapes do you have?
We stock two styles of washi tapes from Iconic.Iconic is a Korean stationery brand known for their retro designs, pastel colour palette, and easy practicality.
The first style is in a gingham pattern – this would be perfect as a background for a bullet journal, or to glue paper. They come in all sorts of shades, from neutral to bright, so you can pick and choose what works best for your personal preferences.
The second style actually contains two designs in one. This means these tapes are thinner in width, making them perfect for borders, or underlining headings. They come in all different styles from cute to quirky; you'd be hard pressed not to like any of them...
